Why use this Word to PDF converter

What stays the same, and what may change

The converter reads the structure of your Word document and lays it out on an A4 page with standard margins. It keeps:

Documents that depend on text boxes, multiple columns, custom page sizes, headers and footers, watermarks or fonts that are not installed on our server may look slightly different from the Word original. For a letter, quotation, invoice, price list, resume or catalogue that is rarely a problem. If the exact layout matters, see the section on other ways to convert below.

DOC vs DOCX: which files work

.docx is the format Word has saved by default since Word 2007. Google Docs, LibreOffice, WPS Office and the Word apps on Android and iPhone all export it. This converter accepts .docx files.

.doc is the older binary format from Word 97 to 2003. It is not supported yet. To convert a .doc file, open it in Word, choose File → Save As, pick Word Document (.docx), and upload the new file. In Google Docs, open the .doc and choose File → Download → Microsoft Word.

Convert Word to PDF on your phone

The page works in the browser on Android and iPhone, so there is no app to install. Tap the upload box, choose the document from your phone storage, WhatsApp downloads or Google Drive, tap Convert to PDF, then Download. The PDF lands in your Downloads folder, ready to share on WhatsApp or attach to an email. If you receive Word files from customers or suppliers on WhatsApp, this is the quickest way to turn them into something that opens the same way for everyone.

Hindi and other Indian-language documents

Many free converters print Hindi or Gujarati text as empty boxes because the server has no fonts for those scripts. This converter loads Noto fonts for Devanagari, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Gurmukhi during conversion, so bilingual invoices, Hindi notices, regional-language catalogues and school or government forms come out readable. English text keeps a standard document font.

Common uses for sellers and small businesses

Invoices and quotations

A PDF cannot be edited by accident and opens on any phone. Marketplaces, customers and accountants generally ask for invoices as PDF. If you create invoices from scratch, the GST invoice generator produces a ready PDF directly, with the CGST, SGST and IGST split done for you.

Catalogues and price lists

Share one file on WhatsApp that looks the same for every buyer. Combine several converted documents with the Merge PDF tool to send a single catalogue, and shrink the photos first with the image compressor if the document is heavy.

Forms, declarations and KYC documents

Bank, GST, Udyam and marketplace onboarding portals usually accept PDF uploads only. Fill the Word form, convert it here and upload the PDF directly.

Resumes, letters and notices

A resume or an official letter sent as PDF keeps its formatting on the reader's side. Word files can reflow or show missing fonts on another computer; a PDF does not.

Other ways to convert Word to PDF

If you have Microsoft Word installed, File → Save As → PDF gives the most faithful result, because Word itself lays out the pages. Google Docs can also download a document as PDF, and LibreOffice has File → Export as PDF. Use this online converter when you do not have Word on the device, when you are on a phone, when you need to convert several files at once, or when you simply want a clean PDF without installing anything or creating an account.

Troubleshooting

Frequently asked questions

Is this Word to PDF converter free?

Yes. There is no account, no payment, no trial period and no watermark. Convert as many documents as you need, up to 10 at a time.

Do I need to sign up or give my email?

No. Open the page, upload the file and download the PDF. Nothing else is asked for.

Which file types can I upload?

Word .docx files, the format every version of Word since 2007 saves by default. Older binary .doc files are not supported yet: open the file in Word, choose Save As, pick .docx and upload that instead.

Will the PDF look exactly like my Word document?

Headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, bullet and numbered lists, tables, hyperlinks, page breaks and embedded images are kept. The page is laid out on A4 with standard margins, so documents that rely on text boxes, multiple columns, custom page sizes, headers and footers or unusual fonts may look slightly different.

Does it work with Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil or other Indian languages?

Yes. Devanagari, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Gurmukhi text is rendered with Noto fonts, so Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Punjabi documents convert correctly.

Are my documents stored on your server?

No. The file is converted in memory and the PDF is sent straight back to your browser. Nothing is written to disk or kept after the response, and there are no download links that live on after you leave the page.

Can I convert several Word files at once?

Yes, up to 10 files at a time, each up to 25 MB. Each document becomes its own PDF, and you can download them one by one or all together.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The converter runs in any modern browser on Android or iPhone. Pick the file from your phone storage, WhatsApp downloads or Google Drive, convert, and the PDF saves to your Downloads folder.

Why is my file rejected?

The most common reasons are an old .doc file, a password-protected document, a file larger than 25 MB, or a file that is not actually a Word document even though it ends in .docx. Remove the password in Word, save as .docx and try again.

Why convert a Word file to PDF at all?

A PDF looks the same on every phone and computer, cannot be edited by accident, and is the format most marketplaces, customers, banks and government portals ask for when you share an invoice, quotation, catalogue, form or letter.
