Convert between cost, selling price, margin and markup in one place. Find your margin on a price, or the price you need for a target margin or markup.
The Meesho price calculator adds commission, shipping, GST and return losses.
A 50% markup is not a 50% margin. Markup is measured on what you paid; margin is measured on what the customer pays. Sellers who confuse the two set prices that look generous but leave a thin margin once fees and returns land. This margin calculator shows both numbers side by side so the difference is never a surprise.
| Cost | Price | Profit | Markup | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ₹200 | ₹250 | ₹50 | 25% | 20% |
| ₹200 | ₹300 | ₹100 | 50% | 33.3% |
| ₹200 | ₹400 | ₹200 | 100% | 50% |
Always include packaging, shipping you bear and any platform fee in the cost. A margin computed on the bare product cost overstates your profit on every unit.
Marketplace deductions scale with price, so a flat margin check is only an estimate. For an exact number use the Meesho Price Calculator to set a price, the Meesho Profit Calculator to verify it, or the Flipkart Profit Calculator for Flipkart orders. All Meesho seller calculators are collected on the Meesho Calculator page.
What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is profit as a percentage of the selling price; markup is profit as a percentage of cost. A product that costs ₹200 and sells for ₹300 has a ₹100 profit, which is a 33.3% margin but a 50% markup. The two numbers describe the same profit from different sides.
How do I calculate profit margin?
Profit margin = (selling price − total cost) ÷ selling price × 100. Include every per-unit cost — product, packaging, shipping and fees — in the total cost, otherwise the margin looks better than it really is.
How do I find the selling price for a target margin?
Selling price = total cost ÷ (1 − target margin). For a ₹230 cost and a 30% margin that is 230 ÷ 0.70 = ₹328.57. Choose the "I want a margin %" mode in the calculator and it solves this for you.
Why can I not get a 100% margin?
Margin is measured on the selling price, so 100% would mean the product cost you nothing. Markup has no such ceiling: a 100% markup simply means selling at double the cost, which is a 50% margin.
Does this work for Meesho, Flipkart or Amazon sellers?
Yes, for a quick margin check. Marketplace fees are percentages of the selling price, so for an exact figure use the Meesho price calculator or the Flipkart profit calculator, which account for commission, shipping, GST on fees and returns.
